Location: Santa Fe, NM. Vehicle: 2005 Prius. The transmission warning is almost always a 12V problem. Double-check all connections at the 12V battery. Monitor the voltage of the 12V when you push the power button to make sure that it does not drop below 11V.II. I have had my new 2010 Prius for 1 1/2 months, and four times it has failed to go into gear. I depress the brake fully, and push the power button. After the ready light comes on, with the brake fully depressed, I put it into drive, and nothing happens (the display does not indicate Drive and the car doesn't move). It also wont go into R or B.With NO load on the battery, the voltage of the battery should read a minimum of 12.7 volts after setting over night. If the voltage is lower than 12.7, the battery is getting weak. Refer to chart below for more information concerning voltage levels of the Prius Battery. Remember it is a AGM type battery.
So my 2007 prius was running rough so I changed out the spark plugs, coil packs, and fuel injectors. It is running better but now it wont charge my main hybrid battery, and it only runs when the cars generator is running. It wont accelerate and when you do it will only go really slow. The battery bars you see are the hybrid (traction) battery level. It doesn't say anything about the 12v battery. If the 12V battery is dead, the car is dead. No lights, no nuthin', which is what you experienced. If the traction (hybrid) battery is at fault, you get various lights on the dash and the car likely won't go.Yep. Something similar happened on my civic. The door hinge has these indentions that the door "locks" into that keeps it still. On mine, those indentions had been worn down to the point that the door wouldnt catch in them. I haven't replaced it, but I don't think it would be all that hard. Just have to replace that hinge where the indentions are.
